Enjoy all the delicious flavors of a taco in a vibrant, satisfying salad! Juicy grilled beef, crisp romaine, creamy avocado, and crunchy corn chips come together, enhanced by a tangy sour cream and lime dressing. A fresh and balanced dish that takes your taste buds on a journey!
Ingredients
Dressing
- 120 g (1 cup) crumbled feta cheese
- 60 ml (1/4 cup) sour cream
- 30 ml (2 tbsp) mayonnaise
- 30 ml (2 tbsp) lime juice
- Black pepper, to taste
Salad
- 1 sirloin steak (340 g, 3/4 lb, 2.5 cm thick)
- 5 ml (1 tsp) chili seasoning (+ extra for sprinkling)
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) vegetable oil
- 120 g (4 cups) romaine lettuce, torn
- 150 g (1 cup) thinly sliced radishes
- 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 ripe but firm avocado, diced
- 75 g (3/4 cup) crushed yellow corn chips
- Fresh cilantro leaves (to taste)
- Lime wedges (for serving)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Dressing
In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients and season with black pepper.
2. Cook the Beef
Rub the steak with chili seasoning on both sides, then season with salt and pepper. Heat the oil in a skillet over high heat and sear the beef for 2–3 minutes per side for a medium-rare finish (or to your preferred doneness). Let it rest for 5 minutes.
3. Assemble the Salad
Toss the romaine with the dressing and adjust seasoning if needed. Divide among serving plates and top with radishes, red onion, avocado, corn chips, and cilantro.
4. Add the Beef & Serve
Thinly slice the steak and arrange it over the salad. Sprinkle with extra chili seasoning or crushed red pepper for an extra kick. Serve with lime wedges.
